The KTM X-Bow
Remember when you were a child? There was always that kid in the neighborhood that had a gocart, always the envy of the other kids. Now KTM has created a gocart for the adult world. Featuring a carbon fiber construction four wheel disk brakes... two seats, a steering wheel and not much else. Although the new model features a windsheild and side windows, no plans have officially been relesed for a roof. KTM calls its new model the, "GT" with no A/C power windows and a stiff suspension the X-Bow does not fit into the traditional Grand Touring category. The car is set to debut at Geniva next week. Even with all these changes the X-Bow seems to stay true to its roots a bare bones speed machine.

Corvette Stingray Debut
GM unveiled the new versian of the Corvette Stingray at the Detroit International Auto show. This marks the seventh generation of the car and the first since 2005. The new car will boast an estimated 450 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque paired with a six speed automatic or a seven speed tremec manual. That is seven foward gears, four shift gates and rev matching for both upshifts and downshifts. Other features include cylender deactivation on both the automatic and manual transmissions allowing the new model to beat the old C6's 26mpg EPA Highway rating. The Z51s performance package will include many preformance enhancements including and electronic limited slip differential, a dry sump system, closer gear ratios, larger brakes, and enhanced cooling all around. Aluminum construction and improved bracing saves weight and is said to have stiffened the chasis by a claimed 57% and saved 99lbs. The interior is also improved, their are now two seat options. First is a base comfort seat designed for long range travel comfort, also available is a true competition style seat with cutouts to accomidate a five point racing harness. Corvette enthusiests hope that the new model will live up to the iconic Stingray name. GM belives that the new car is worthy of the name. Time will tell if this new car will become an icon as the Stingrays that have proceded it, but for now it looks like one pretty cool machine.
